i do see where it'll make life a bit easier, but there will be a lot of cleaning up and fine tuning on the characters to make the animations usable.Have you noticed a difference depending on what figure you're using?
not yet, I first tried using it in my office, but it was too cluttered in there for the Kinect to pick me up correctly, that round I tried Andy, the mannequin and M4 and they all behaved the same. Today I tried it in front of my green screen with Rex, I had better results, but still a little quirky, I'll try hooking my lamps up tomorrow and see if more light makes a difference. I found one of the issues with the balled up mesh is when you move a certain way, the nulls for the hands don't follow, I'm thinking that might be a lighting problem.

It's interesting though quirky. hopefully it will get better with updates. The biggest issues with the Kinect feature I found is the kinect turns your character around 180 deg (havent figured out how to turn the character around, other than the camera). you can do a walk cycle but the knees dont bend well, if you turn sideways, forget about it. And last but not least the characters mesh will knot up here and there.

Thread: How do I move a Poser license from one machine to another? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
yes, just as Bill said, you can install Poser on multiple computers but you can only run one version of each serial at a time. This was confirmed to me by Smith Micro a year ago when I asked.
Thread: Accessing black line on poser graph? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah, but the layers weren't at fault. This instance the line was caused by an animated pose file. I knew normally that line showed what is going on on other layers. Seems some poses will also create those lines.

Hi Phil, actually the black line is inaccessible, only the red is adjustable as is.
In normal conditions, the black line represents that perticuler body part on another layer. What was confusing me is that the line stayed the same in this instance no matter which layer I was on.
I did just accidently figure it out I believe. I switched the Composite method radio button to add then back to replace and it created a new red line that when I adjust it the black adjusts with it.
perhaps I'm glitched lol.
Thanks for the reply

Hey Bill,
Thanks, that might just be what I was missing. I did accidentally get I to work a little while ago, but saved file and lost it, couldn't figure out what I did

Thread: Batch merging images? | Forum: Photoshop
Yeah, that was my issue as well. I've been plugging different terms into Google for 2 days now and I have found a few things that were close but no cigar. I just found one script that is supposed to do this, but it's for an older version of PS and it won't even launch. :(
Hopefully I can come up with something soon, manually merging 18,000+ files will be a task indeed. :)
Thread: Batch merging images? | Forum: Photoshop
Thanks Lobo, I'm figuring a script is probably the answer. It doesnt seem Photoshop is smart enough on it's own to figure out different directories. Looking at the actions all the files and locations are generic, so a script would have to be implemented for it to learn. Too bad I can't script my way through a wet paper bag.
Thread: converting V3 prop to M4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
probably not, I've only played with the fitting room a couple times, trying to get clothes on Dawn. And I haven't used Wardrobe Wizard in 3 years, so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, that is if this item is compatable. :)

Thread: Poser 9 Help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Must be either Vista or Win7, Win 8 is not compatible with Poser 9.
What you need to do is install your Daz characters to the main poser runtime e.g. Program files(x86)/smith micro/poser9 (something like that)
When it's finished installing double click on the initialize icon on your desktop (for the figures that have it). Don't delete the icon after it's done, you'll need it again. Next for V4 install your morphs the same way then go back and re initialize V4 or else her morphs won't work. Do this for each base character you install for V4 such as Aiko, Stephanie...
When you launch Poser the Poser 9 runtime you see is actually in your Documents folder. You'll need to import the main runtime by clicking on the folder with the + on it in the upper corner of your library window then direct it to the runtime folder under your program files directory.
That should have you set up.

Whoops, there is another thread. It's called poser heaven has arrived or something of the like.
Thread: Does Anyone Know What software 3rd Art Uses? | Forum: Animation
No problem.
in a nutshell almost everything at Daz will work in poser except shaders built for Daz and dynamic cloth built for daz. The same is not true for poser items. there are some things sold here, rdna and other places that is built for poser only and may not work properly in Daz studio. Genesis is a first of its kind hence the name, though I understand they are working on creating a way for it to work in poser. I really don't use genesis myself being I've spent thousands on the other characters and I can't foresee me spending that much again to use genesis.
Honestly, unless your planning on using poser with a program such as 3ds Max I would just stick with poser 9. It's a lot cheaper and the quality of renders are the same. Smith micro has a program comparison chart on their website, check it out before you buy. If you don't need the technical features pro has to offer then why shell out the bucks.
